Julia B. Chan is the online engagement coordinator for The I Files, a YouTube channel curated by The Center for Investigative Reporting that features investigative news videos from around the world. 

A creative type with a journalism background and a taste for technology, Julia previously worked as the Web editor at the San Francisco Examiner for seven years. She launched the publication's first social media and online engagement strategy. She also pitched in daily on the print production desk, reported on breaking news stories and wrote a semiweekly Arts & Entertainment column.  

Julia majored in broadcasting at San Francisco State University, focusing on audio production and recording. When not glued to the Internet, she can be found producing and hosting a live radio show, dabbling in freelance writing or playing music.
