Asthma, Children and Polluting School Buses

Associate reporter Rebecca Perl reports that the little yellow school bus may be a hazard to children's health. Nearly all of these buses, which carry 25 million children to and from school every day, run on diesel, and like all diesel vehicles, they contribute to health problems linked to air pollution. Children who ride the buses are exposed to that pollution. A handful of politicians are trying to fix the situation, but lobbyists are attempting to block the EPA's diesel clean-up mandate.
