The Tragic Side of Classroom Punishment

Suicide is rare among children under fifteen. There have been no formal studies to document whether children can be so traumatized by corporal punishment that they become suicidal. But reporter Diana Hembree reveals that, looking back over the past two years, parents and corporal punishment researchers can identify more than two dozen children across the country who have attempted or threatened suicide after repeated school paddlings.
